Confirmation

REGISTRATION

To register for Confirmation, please complete the registration form at the bottom of this page and email it to the parish along with a copy of the candidate's baptismal certificate (if from another parish).

In the Archdiocese of Gatineau, those who were baptized at a young age are invited to present themselves for Confirmation at or after age 15. Many candidates for Confirmation wait until they are adults to do it. They become aware that Confirmation is required in order to become a godparent or to celebrate the sacrament of marriage: thus, they request to receive Confirmation at that moment.

 

Whatever the situation, the Christian community that is celebrating Confirmation wants to give all its care to the new confirmands by praying for them, helping them fully understand the meaning of their action by preparing for them a significant and joyous celebration, and by supporting them as they get involved with Jesus in his mission.

 

The preparation is usually done in group discussions and the celebration of the sacrament occurs during the Easter season.
