Faith Formation
The easiest and most common way to learn and grow in our faith, for the most part, is in the participation of the Liturgy of the Word and of the Eucharist. Faith education is constant and ever-living.
In the early stages of faith formation are the Sacraments of Initiation; baptism, First Communion and Confirmation.
Children are presented to the parish community on the day of their baptism as a welcoming into the faith. The baptism is then celebrated in the intimacy of family and friends after the mass.
First Communion preparation usually takes place from November until the Easter season after which the First Communion of the children is celebrated during a Sunday mass. Leaders provide the children and their families information and activities to get to know Jesus and their role in the Christian community.
Candidates for Confirmation are provided with guidance and activities from their leader to help them further explore and learn about the catholic faith and their lives as Christians. Confirmation preparation usually begins in the spring and the celebration with the Archbishop occurs during a Sunday Eucharist in the Easter season.
