Faith Formation

The easiest and most common way to learn and grow in our faith, for the most part, is in the participation of the Liturgy of the Word and of the Eucharist.  Faith education is constant and ever-living.

In order to better absorb the Scripture readings of the Sunday Mass and have them transform our lives, parishioners who wish to do so meet electronically every Monday at 7:00 p.m. to discuss the up-coming Sunday readings. If you wish to join this group, contact the parish office.

In the early stages of faith formation are the Sacraments of Initiation; Baptism, first Communion and Confirmation.

Children are presented to the parish community at some point during the preparation for Baptism as a welcoming into the faith. The Baptism is then celebrated in the intimacy of family and friends after the Mass.

First Communion preparation usually takes place from November until  Easter. First Communion of the children is celebrated at a Sunday Mass during the Easter Season. Leaders provide the children and their families information and activities to get to know Jesus and their role in the Christian community.

Candidates for Confirmation are provided with guidance and activities from their leader to help them further explore and learn about the Catholic faith and their lives as Christians.  The celebration of the sacrament presided by the Archbishop occurs during a Sunday Eucharist in the Easter season.
